Bliss District Elderly Community Centre

Bliss District Elderly Community Centre

Introduction

“Bliss District Elderly Community Centre” (BDECC) was formerly known as “Wan Hon District Elderly Community Centre”, which was founded in 1998.  It was relocated to Choi Fook Estate in 2013, and was renamed as “Bliss” (an acronym meaning “Brighten Life with Integrated and Self-initiated Service), a metaphor of the glamourous glows from senior citizens who live a rich and abundant life. BDECC is also the first elderly centre to have completed the improvement works under the “Improvement Programme of Elderly Centres” (IPEC) launched by the Government.

We are dedicated to providing one-stop, comprehensive and professional community support services for senior citizens by upholding the community-based direction and adopting an integrated approach. We aim at promoting a self-initiated, self-learned and self-managed healthy life-style among seniors, facilitating them to actively participate in social affairs and continuous learning, so as to actualise active ageing. Besides, we also provide comprehensive support to the caregivers to strengthen their confidence and capabilities in caregiving, so that the seniors can continue to live in their familiar community.
